One Day Project: A-Z train map

Publishing: Fashion Magazine

This was a self motivated project to keep my creative juices flowing between freelance jobs. I decided to make my own fashion and beauty magazine. I found a font I liked and just went with it. I studied similar titles and tried to create something a little different while still sticking to the reader profile. I tried to design for an upper class reader around the £4.99 - £5.99 mark. I did this by using luxury colours and fonts. I also used a clear formatted grid to keep it uniformed.

Publishing: Guns book

This book part of a planned series on war, is named the Gun. I used a rustic 'stamped' typeface, as seen on markings on military boxes. I wanted to put the text around the images to mix them together, to link them where possible to use shapes of the images to create interest.

Publishing: ITech Magazine

This was a project I designed to bid for a job as a magazine designer, the new title was to be called 'Itech'. The brief was to uses modern, fresh page design to attract a young business professional. I used simple layouts, making the best use of white space and images to attract the eye and let the information speak.

Work expirience: Rebelious typography Diary

After completing my work experience at Merrel publishing, I produced a book describing my day to day activities at the firm. After using strict guidelines and templates I wanted to do something a little different so I designed the book so half it was using what I have learned and the other half breaking these ruling.

Spanish Style

This was one of the projects I did on work experience at Merrel publishing. I designed versions of a cover for the new title "Spanish style" using an existing template from a previous title.

Election build up newspaper spread

This was a project done while at college to produce an election day by day coverage as a class. This taught me how to layout type for a newspaper article in a professional manor.
